Starter and Level 2 are 4 week classes and cost $50 per person for the session. No experience is needed for our Starter class.
Knowledge of basics is required for Level 2.
Intermediate classes are ongoing. Permission is required to join an Intermediate class.
No partner is needed for any class!
4 week session starting May 6th, 8th, and 9th
Swing Starter - Mondays 6:30pm
Swing Level 2 - Turning combinations - Mondays 7:30pm
Salsa/Bachata Starter - Thursdays at 8pm
Salsa/Bachata Level 2 - Cross body leads and 2 hand connections - Wednesdays 8pm
Ballroom Starter - Thursday’s at 7pm
4 week session starting June 10th, 12th, and 13th
Swing Starter - Mondays 6:30pm
Swing Level 2 - Checks with timing changes - Mondays at 7:30pm
Salsa Bachata Starter - Thursdays at 8pm
Salsa/Bachata Level 2 - Turning Combinations - Wednesdays 8pm

We are excited to have you for one of our group class sessions at Sway. Remember, you DO NOT need a partner to get your groove on with us. Our group classes are designed for everyone to learn and have blast at the same time!

Swing Starter - From the classics of Benny Goodman to the modern hits from Electric Swing Circus, Chicago has a great swing scene with plenty of opportunities for social dance. Swing Starter is great for anyone who wants to learn a new skills or dust off the cobwebs.

Swing Level 2 - In Swing Level 2, we add twists, turns, and other variations to the basics that we learned in the Swing Starter class.

Intermediate Swing - This class requires basic knowledge of Lindy Hop and an intermediate level of knowledge of East Coast Swing to participate. More turns, variations, and patterns will be added to your Lindy and East Coast fundamentals as well as introductions to other Swing styles such as Charleston and West Coast Swing. - Ongoing Class

Salsa/Bachata Starter - If you're looking for styles of dance to keep you social, dancing to live music, and active in the dance scene in Chicago, this class is for you. We will teach Latin frame, how to lead/follow your partner, basic footwork and turns. It’s a progressive class that will teach both dances each week.

Swayzettes: Don’t miss our Swayzettes performing a HOT swing inspired Jazz number to the song “Hot Stuff.” Sway Dance “Swayzettes” are an all-femme Performance Group that is made up of a strong community of individuals varying across all different backgrounds, skill levels, professions, and age. However, we have one thing in common – A love for movement and performance… and of course, who doesn’t love a wearing an awesome costume every now and then?!
Swayzees: Our Swayzees group will be doing a number to the song “Disco Inferno.” Sway Dance “Swayzees” Co-ed Performance Group is a community of dancers varying across all different backgrounds, skill levels, professions, and ages. Whether you are a looking for a new hobby or you want to take your skills to the next level, Swayzee classes are a place to express yourself while making friends, getting active, and showing off your skills at our quarterly parties and events!
No partner? No problem! Classes rotate for learning purposes in class to help you develop skills more quickly.
